The
Symposium titled “Dede Korkut in the Eurasian Cultural Geography: Common Memory
and Shared Future” is an international academic event that aims to bring
together researchers and scholars conducting studies in the field of Turkic
Studies within the broader domain of social sciences. The symposium provides a
comprehensive scholarly platform for the presentation and discussion of current
research addressing the linguistic, historical, cultural, artistic, philosophical,
literary, sociological, religious, economic, political, and international
dimensions of the Turkic World within the broader Eurasian context.
Structured
around the Dede Korkut narrative tradition, one of the most significant symbols
of the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic World, this scientific gathering
seeks to examine this heritage through an interdisciplinary perspective and to
evaluate the cultural and academic accumulation of the Turkic World within a
systematic framework.
The symposium, to be hosted by Bayburt University between July 7-10, 2026, will bring together academics from Türkiye and other countries to present multidimensional research on Eurasia and the Turkic World. Participants will have the opportunity to deliver their presentations either in person or online, thereby ensuring an inclusive and accessible academic environment.
